The
majority of my work consists of oil on canvas. Within that body of work, the dominant subject matter
is of European cityscapes inspired by my travel photos
taken over the past few years. I am constantly trying new subjects
and attempting additional abstract works, but tend to have greater
success with landscape and cityscape and thus frequently return
to them.
The basic technique of my work is
a traditional combination of oil paints with linseed and turpentine
and applied to primed and stretched canvas by brush or palette
knife. I prefer the completion of a piece in a single setting,
but due to the excessive time involved in some of the larger
works, this is obviously not possible.
I have completed a Bachelor of Fine
Arts Degree from Oklahoma State University and have begun Master
of Fine Arts studies at Queensland University of Technology
in Brisbane, Australia. My future plans include continuation
of Masters studies locally as well as full time graphic design work
and participation in future festivals.
